Florence, June 2013 – As in a dream, amongst maxi lollipops and giant candy canes the new PHILIPP PLEIN Petite spring/summer 2014 collection was unveiled at Florence’s PITTI BIMBO catwalk on Friday, June 28th 2013. The dream comes true, taking on new forms, colors and dimensions, in a world of pure fun and entertainment that never ends. When they grow up, these children will continue playing, winning and dreaming.
Play is the main theme in the new PHILIPP PLEIN Petite collection. For little men, Philipp Plein conjures up the enchantment of playing cards, dice, or even poker chips borrowed from Dad’s desk. With PHILIPP PLEIN Petite, boys are transformed into little magicians, able to perform tricks and create illusions. These little gamblers wear leather jackets and jeans of all types, as well as Bermuda shorts, polo shirts and T-shirts featuring a variety of gambling motifs.
The bomber jacket is protagonist in a wide range of materials and colors. Like the version in tortoise colored leather complete with maxi skull on the back and worn over dark blue jeans and a polo shirt. Or the black nappa version with padded reinforcements on the arms and shoulders, complete with giant hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds embellished on the back.
Philipp Plein sees his little women as queens of the circus; authentic trapeze artists and tightrope walkers, dancers and jugglers, clowns and lion tamers. For his queens he creates dresses sparkling with patterns and colors, kaleidoscope jumpsuits, leggings, miniskirts and T-shirts decorated with images inspired by fairy tales and the animal kingdom, covered in stones and glittering crystals. Sweetened versions of iconic rock pieces, like the metallic gold leather bomber over printed colorful leggings. American style with the bi-color college jacket, denim shorts and T-shirt featuring the American flag in micro crystals.
Materials are pure and natural: leather for jackets, various types of cotton, from fleece to jersey and poplin, in addition to pure silk.
