FILFURY for PHILIPP PLEIN. Disruption and transformation
German designer Philipp Plein sees his creations transformed by British artist Filfury as they continue their fashion meets art collaboration dedicated to the cruise 2017 season.
PHILIPP PLEIN again invites British artist Phil Robson, aka Filfury, to run wild with his imagination, dismantling and transforming a series of fashion accessories into iconic skulls. From a black high top PP logo sneaker emerges a leather PP logo skull, complete with laced mouth and zippered cranium. A rock and roll star embellished handbag is reborn as a grinning gold toothed snakeskin and stud covered head. And a white crystal adorned sneaker becomes a flying skull equipped with shoe lace wings and sparkling studded details. Filfury literally takes these fashion items apart and recomposes them in a series of sculptures inspired by the iconic skull, symbol of the PHILIPP PLEIN brand.
The artist mixes mediums, effortlessly switching from full digital executions to real tactile sculptural pieces whereby digital precision translates into immaculate cut and sew detail.
Masters of disruption, Filfury and Philipp Plein push the limits in design, true outsiders who follow their own vision and set no limits to their creativity.
