Philipp Plein Universe  ›  Store opening

Amriswil, May 16th, 2012. The international expansion of luxury brand PHILIPP PLEIN continues with the opening of its new store in Baku on May 23rd, 2012. The famous city of the Orient set against the deep blue of the Caspian Sea impresses with its charm and flair, providing the perfect environment for a new, spectacular and exclusive PHILIPP PLEIN store. The designer Philipp Plein has already opened his own stores in Cannes, Saint Tropez, Monte Carlo, Forte dei Marmi, Moscow, Düsseldorf, Kitzbühel and Vienna. PHILIPP PLEIN showrooms are located in Milan, Düsseldorf and Hong Kong.

For Philipp Plein, the expansion of his retail concept to a store in Azerbaijan was close to his heart: "I was looking for a mystical, special city for the next store opening. Baku is a famous commercial and cultural center; the environment around the Caspian Sea, its people and the city’s atmosphere extremely fascinated me. We want to evolve and incorporate new cultures into the brand. We will open many new stores this year. Baku is very interesting for me because its people are very fashion-conscious and love luxury. PHILIPP PLEIN represents elegance and luxury and every collection shows a mix of rebellion and rock'n'roll. Our fashion symbolizes a glamorous lifestyle and fits this city very well. Of course I’m also very excited that the opening will take place at exactly the same time as the Eurovision Song Contest!” said Phillip Plein.

Like all PHILIPP PLEIN stores, this store will also be an architectural highlight. Its architecture places couture, homme, accessories and pieces from the children’s collection like small works of art in the eye of the beholder and ensures that every piece has its own unique effect. The new store presents a concept in which the pure, minimalist aesthetic of the PHILIPP PLEIN Home Collection mixes harmoniously with the exclusive fashion collection of its 34-year-old designer. Its design by Italian architectural firm AquiliAlberg greets PHILIPP PLEIN clients with an ultra-modern, luxurious and elegant look. Bright, relaxed and in perfect balance with the exclusive harmony surrounding Baku.

High quality white materials were used which will be lit through the windows and glass within the store. The floor is made of lava rock and is used with parquet to stage a herringbone pattern. The background elements alternate between paint, chrome and ostrich leather. Panels of the same materials are used behind chrome shelves. The famous hand-made PHILIPP PLEIN skull studded with CRISTALLIZEDTM Swarovski gems dominates the store. Philipp Plein offers his clients an exclusive red-letter store atmosphere which will resonate with every guest who enters.
